Context & need

How do you tell the soul of a place, pass on its values and convey everything that makes it unique?
For the MAM Foundation, based in Grand Souza, Cameroon, La petite production conceived and directed a corporate film with a documentary approach, where image, music and poetry meet.

 

From re-editing archive footage to full documentary immersion

 

The MAM Foundation first came to us to make its presentation film from existing archive footage.
From our very first conversations, we saw a chance to go further. To capture the Foundation’s identity, its commitments and the energy of the people who bring it to life, we recommended filming on location.
Our client embraced the idea, and the original project became a true human and artistic adventure.

 

A week of filming in the heart of Cameroon

 

After careful preparation, our crew flew to Grand Souza, north of Douala, in May 2026.
For a week, we shared the daily life of the Foundation’s members and captured the many sides of this unique place: art workshops, forest explorations, work on the local herbarium, encounters and testimonies.
Our aim was to gather authentic footage and capture gestures, glances and emotions, so we could build a story true to the spirit of the Foundation.

 

A corporate film that takes the time to tell its story

 

In post-production, we made a bold editorial choice: to break away from the usual conventions of corporate filmmaking.
There’s no frantic editing and no rapid-fire string of messages. Instead, we chose a contemplative narrative, close to documentary cinema, where long takes give the images and emotions room to breathe.

Two artistic collaborations take this approach further. Poet and writer Capitaine Alexandre wrote the text and lends his voice to the film, while Senny Camara composed its musical world, carried by the sound of the kora and lyrics full of hope.

This project shows how we work at La petite production: we go beyond our clients’ initial brief, challenge creative choices and craft tailor-made films that tell authentic, memorable stories.
